Palace Legends Attend CPFC Golf Day

This week the club held its annual Crystal Palace Academy Golf Day at Sweetwoods Park Golf Club, owned by Palace co-owner Martin Long. The event was sponsored by Lynx Golf and a big thank you to Ian Wilkinson and his colleagues for their sponsorship of the event.  

 

Club sponsors and corporate clients were joined by Alan Pardew and members of his management team as well as Shola Ameobi, Wayne Hennessey, Joe Ledley, Scott Dann, Dwight Gayle, Martin Kelly, James McArthur, Julian Speroni and Damien Delaney. 

 

In addition the club were delighted to welcome Palace legends Steve Coppell, Shaun Derry, John Salako, Jim Cannon and Ian Evans. A special thank you to Tony Cottee and Ben Thatcher for also attending this event. 

 

The 27 holes of golf competition was followed by an evening of fundraising with a dinner including a prize giving ceremony, all proceeds going to the CPFC Youth Academy and top comedy from Adger Brown.

 

A considerable sum was raised during the evening for the CPFC Academy and the club would like to thank Ian Wilkinson and all at Lynx Golf for sponsoring a magnificent prize table in the evening.  

 

A big thank you to Foxhills Golf Group for donating incredible auction items that really enhanced the evening’s fundraising.



 

Head of Commercial at Palace Chris Powlson said: “The day was a huge success at a superb venue, and I would like to thank all the sponsors involved for their wonderful support of the club for this event.  

 

“I would also like to thank Martin Long and his superb staff at Sweetwoods Park for their invaluable input in to this golf day, the quality and condition of the course was exceptional and the service from all the staff on the day was first class."

 

The club would like to sincerely thank all those who entered teams and participated at the event and congratulate all the winners on the day with special note to the players from K.C. Facilities and CCM Interiors who collected several prizes between them.
