Despite the forecast for the north-west over the next few hours we would like to inform supporters that Burnley Football Club report that there are no problems at present in staging Saturday’s Premier League game at Turf Moor.
Snow is expected in the region between now and kick off on Saturday (3pm), although the club does not expect this to present any major issues.
The Turf Moor pitch benefits from undersoil heating, which is now in operation to ensure the playing surface is fit for action.
Fans are, however, asked to allow extra time for their journeys and entry into Turf Moor on Saturday.
The weather forecast for the area is as follows:
This Evening and Tonight
Clear spells and further wintry showers, which will fall as snow over higher ground, and possibly also to lower levels during the early hours of Sunday. A fairly widespread frost will develop tonight, with a risk of localised icy patches.
