Lee Features In Korean Victory

11 June 2015

Crystal Palace winger Chung yong Lee played 45 minutes of South Korea's 3-0 win against the United Arab Emirates today.

The January signing came on at half-time in Malaysia with his side leading the Gulf side at the break thanks to Ki Hun-yeom's opener, and the Eagles man took over the captaincy in the second half to guide his teammates to a convincing victory thanks to further efforts from Lee Tong-jae and Lee Jung-hyub.

That handed the Taegeuk Warriors a boost ahead of their opening 2018 World Cup qualifier against Myanmar on Tuesday in Bangkok, having been drawn in a group alongside Kuwait, Laos and Lebanon.

His appearance against the UAE has taken Lee up to 66 for his country but it was his first since January when he sustained an injury in their opening game of the Asian Cup against Oman, which delayed his Palace debut until April.
