Scholar of the Year - The Nominees

13 May 2015

At the club's annual Awards Night on Wednesday 13th May, one of the club's academy players will collect the Scholar of the Year award.

It's been another decent campaign for Ken Gillard's side who have performed well in the U18 Professional Development League 2, and at one point strung together seven victories in a row.

Here we look at four of the nominees who are in line to collect the trophy, which was won by Hiram Boateng last year, at the event at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon.

Corie Andrews
The 17-year-old striker has been in great form again this season, surpassing his six goals last term with 10 already this campaign with four games of the season still to go. His pace has troubled many opposition defences and possesses a deadly touch in front of goal, which was shown in the early weeks of the season when he scored in five of the academy side's first seven matches.

Jacob Berkley-Agyepong
As well as making 20 appearances for the under-18s, the attacker has also stepped up to the development side 10 times and scored his first goal at that level against Coventry City. He has registered three times as well at academy level and was rewarded for his good form this season with a professional contract earlier this month.

Aaron Bissaka
A winger who has shown plenty of promise this term, Bissaka has held down a regular place in the Eagles' under-18 side this season featuring in 21 games so far. He has hit the back of the net four times but has produced many more goals for his teammates, but the high point of his season was scoring a brace in a derby victory against Millwall in January.

Michael Phillips
The side's top scorer so far this campaign with 12 goals to his name, Phillips began the season filling in at centre-back but still managed to find the back of the net in a thrilling opener against Huddersfield Town. He had a purple patch in the winter, scoring nine goals in six games, including two hat-tricks against Barnsley and Colchester United.

You can be there to see who lifts the prize at the Awards Night, which will take place at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon on Wednesday 13th May 2015 between 7.00pm and 10.00pm.
