Having won their previous two games, Palace's academy side came back down to earth with a bump after losing 3-1 to Millwall at Beckenham.
The first goal of a derby game played in atrocious weather conditions came on 15 minutes when Mikael Ndjoli scrambled the ball in from close range after a corner, and soon after they doubled their lead when Alex Mulrooney-Skinner was fortunate to see his shot hit the post, roll across the goalline before striking the opposite piece of woodwork and trickling over the line.
Noah Chesmain then went close when the wind assisted his corner goalwards but it narrowly flew over the bar, but Bryce Hosannah had a chance to reduce the arrears on 35 minutes but he save his attempt saved by Harry Girling in the Lions goal.
But just before half-time the visitors went further ahead, once again from a corner kick, when Rian Bray headed in a Chesmain delivery to hand his side a healthy three goal lead at the break.
Palace were much better after the restart and Dan Hogan managed to pull back a consolation six minutes from time but by then the result had already been decided in Millwall's favour.
