The Crystal Palace Sydney Supporters Club took part in their annual REMF match against Australian Brighton fans 'the Seagulls Downunder' last month, mimicking the yearly fixture between the rival fan groups in England.
Much like the charity match in England, the two Australian fan clubs meet up annually for beers, barbecue and a game of football to raise money for the Robert Easton Memorial Fund. Eagles fans from Melbourne and Brisbane flew into Sydney to join the fun and cheer on the boys in red and blue in heat over 30 degrees Celsius.
Both sides played the game in good spirits, raising $1500 for the REMF in the process. To find out more about the event - and the Australia Palace fans national get together - read the Global Eagles feature in the Sunderland matchday programme.
