Mile Jedinak grabbed the opening goal of the game as Australia comfortably beat Kyrgyzstan in their latest 2018 World Cup qualifier.
The Eagles midfielder netted his ninth international goal from the penalty spot as the Socceroos skipper guided his side to a 3-0 success over the Central Asian outfit in a game the hosts dominated throughout.
Jedinak played an hour of the game in Canberra, and put his side ahead on 40 minutes when Nathan Burns was fouled inside the box and the captain converted the resulting penalty.
Tim Cahill and an own goal from Ildar Amirov completed the scoring as the Socceroos bounced back from their defeat to Jordan last time out to move just a point behind the group leaders, with the top two making it into the third round of the AFC's qualifying competition.
Having been out of their last two squads through injury, the Palace man will be back in international action again on Tuesday as his men now travel to Bangladesh where they could guarantee their progression with a win.
Meanwhile, Chung-yong Lee was an unused substitute as South Korea ran out convincing 4-0 victors against Myanmar in Seoul.
