Palace defender Adrian Mariappa led the way for Jamaica against Haiti, as the Reggae Boyz captain watched his side secure a 1-0 win in the early hours of this morning.
It was the second time the 29-year-old has worn the armband for his country and it proved to be a good omen.
Jamaica had lost to Panama earlier in the week, getting their CONCACAF Qualification campaign off to a slow start. However, Clayton Donaldson's winner in Haiti has given Mariappa and his men their first win in Group B, taking them one place off the bottom.
Goal difference is all that separates them from Panama, who fell to group leaders Costa Rica.
