Wayne Hennessey has heaped praise on his Crystal Palace teammates for their spirited defending in the hard-fought 1-0 win away to Watford on Sunday afternoon.
The goalkeeper kept the Eagles' first clean sheet of the season, but wanted to highlight the work of the players in front of him, who were instrumental to keeping the Hornets at bay.
"I've got to give a lot of credit to the team, defending starts from the front and they've all been superb today," he said, speaking after the game.
"It was difficult. I found that we kept their best players quiet, which is the main thing. We were fantastic at defending today."
The likes of Brede Hangeland, Scott Dann and central midfielder Joe Ledley were all outstanding defensively at Vicarage Road, putting in a number of important challenges, making countless clearances and - notably Ledley - blocking shots heroically as Watford pushed for an equaliser.
