Palace manager Alan Pardew has revealed that striker Connor Wickham could feature in this Sunday's match against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 22-year-old was ruled out of the Eagles' narrow home defeat to Manchester City last week through injury, but Pardew said that the striker would train on Saturday and his condition would be monitored with a view to featuring at White Hart Lane. The manager also confirmed that Welsh international Joe Ledley had returned from injury.
"We've got one or two who have come back to us," he said, when discussing team news during his pre-match press conference. "Joe Ledley's available, Connor Wickham could be available, we're waiting to finalise that. He'll train tomorrow."
Despite losing to City last Saturday, Palace find themselves in a strong position in the league, having won nine points from five games, only losing narrowly to Arsenal and the league leaders, City.
"The level of performance has been very, very high from us," Pardew said. "In fact, probably the only disappointing performance we've put in was at Norwich and we managed to win that game.
"In the other games we've been very strong, we've played Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and now we have Spurs away, so it's been a really, really tough run and we find ourselves on nine points. That's a reflection of how well we've played."
