Alan Pardew revealed that Dwight Gayle would likely miss the Premier League games against Arsenal and Manchester United over the next week, but could be in contention for the FA Cup semi-final squad.
The manager, speaking during his pre-Gunners press conference, also provided good news on the conditions of Connor Wickham, Emmanuel Adebayor and James McArthur, on top of the news he gave on the striker.
"No, Dwight Gayle won't make this game (Arsenal). I don't actually think he'll make Man United, but a possibility for the semi-final, probably," he said.
"Zaha's struggling a little bit with his shoulder, so he's a little bit of a worry. Other than that we're all okay - Ade came through [the Everton game], Connor came through, Macca is training."
Pushed on McArthur and with Manchester United away suggested as a possible return date, Pardew replied: "It's possible he could get a piece of that action, yeah."
