Alan Pardew has admitted that some members of the Eagles' squad are still working their way back to full fitness ahead of Saturday's Premier League opener against West Bromwich Albion.
"I don't want to give my opponents too much information," he said, speaking during his pre-match press conference. "We've got one or two we're trying to get up to full speed after the Euros, we've got a couple of the Welsh boys we've got to bring down because they're still on a high!"
Most of the squad enjoyed a full pre-season and are ready for the big kick off, but some of them are still getting up to speed, the manager admitted, with others recovering from slight knocks sustained in the build up to the new campaign.
"We're not perhaps where we would like to be for the first game, with every body," he said. "But the first group has had a good pre-season and looks strong."
