Pardew Delighted With Travelling Support

7 January 2016

Alan Pardew has praised Palace's travelling supporters ahead of the trip to Southampton in the Emirates FA Cup, predicting an impressive atmosphere at St Mary's on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles take on the Saints at 3pm on the south coast, with over 4,500 fans heading down to cheer on the boys in red and blue.

"We're looking forward to it, we've got [nearly] 5,000 fans heading down there," he said. "We have a responsibility to them to make sure that we're very strong - and I will do.

"Make no mistake, I've managed down there and that crowd makes a difference. I'm so pleased we're taking 5,000 fans, it should make for a great atmosphere."

Pardew is anticipating a good game between two sides that met at this stage of the competition last season, with Palace returning from St Mary's after a 3-2 victory.
