Pardew: Frustrating Defeat

23 January 2016

Alan Pardew was left frustrated by Crystal Palace's 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, as the Eagles were denied by some impressive Hugo Lloris saves and twice by the crossbar.

"It's frustrating," Pardew reflected. "If it wasn't for the goalie we could win that game.

"At 1-0 he's made a couple of great saves, then they get the equaliser and momentum was with them a little bit. But he still came back and had some great chances to take the lead again.

"We hit the bar twice and that sums up the game. It just didn't fall for us."

Spurs enjoyed a lot of the ball at Selhurst Park, but Palace worked hard and looked set to get something from the game before a world class Dele Alli goal put the visitors ahead late on.

"They're a good side though, they had a lot of possession, they move you around and they've got great players," Pardew said.

"The second goal is fabulous for anyone who's not a Crystal Palace fan!"
