Palace fans attending the game in Philadelphia had the chance to meet James McArthur in the hour building up to kick off, when the midfielder stopped by the fanzone at the Talen Energy Stadium.
After suffering a slight knock to his knee in the run up to the game with the Philadelphia Union, McArthur was not risked by Alan Pardew, freeing him up to attend a quick meet and greet before the game, taking the time to chat with the fans in attendance, sign the free memorabilia and pose for photographs before speaking to Palace TV about the Eagles' American fanbase.
"It shows you how far the club has gone, how far we've come and how far we're going," he said of the number of Palace fans in the US.
"There are so many fans here with American accents. It's so nice to see - and hear!"
