Benteke Gets Belgium Call

3 October 2016

Palace striker Christian Benteke has been called up to the Belgium squad for his side's World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gibraltar.

The hitman, who has scored in each of his last three appearances for the Eagles, is one of a host of Premier League stars called upon by Roberto Martinez as he aims to continue their 100% start to qualification.

The Red Devils easily saw off Cyprus by a 3-0 scoreline last month in their opening group game, although Benteke didn't see any action, but he will hope to add to his 26 caps and six goals over the coming fortnight.

Belgium firstly host Bosnia on the 7th October in Brussels before then travelling to Faro in Portugal to face Gibraltar three days later.

The club record signing is one of eight Palace players selected for their countries this international break - find out the rest here.
