Frank de Boer revealed at his pre-match press conference that, for the second week running, he has to report an injury to a member of his starting eleven.
De Boer goes into this weekend's home game against Swansea City on Saturday afternoon without Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
"Ruben Loftus-Cheek picked up a groin injury in training this week so will be out for this weekend’s match."
Last weekend was the first match that Wilfried Zaha had to miss and the manager reported on his progress.
"Wilf is currently in his first phase of recovery and as I have said before he is a robust player but we will just have to wait how see how he goes over the international break."
In the midweek victory against Ipswich Town the manager was able to call on some of the squad that had missed pre-season due to injury, including James McArthur who scored the two goals on the night to send the side through to round three.
This gives the manager a selection headache when choosing his team this weekend.
"It is a nice headache to have"said de Boer as he prepared the squad for the second home game of the season.
