Team News: Tomkins Back For Arsenal Game

1 January 2017

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has recalled James Tomkins to the Eagles side for today’s game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The defender has been out for the past few weeks with a thigh injury but is fit enough to return today, replacing the suspended Damien Delaney.

Arsenal meanwhile have made three changes to their side that beat West Bromwich Albion on Boxing Day, with Mesut Ozil missing from the matchday squad.

His place is taken by Lucas Perez, and injury-victim Kieran Gibbs is replaced by Nacho Monreal, with Mohamed Elneny preferred to Francis Coquelin. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Shkodran Mustafi return to the bench.

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Elneny, Xhaka, Iwobi, Perez, Sanchez, Giroud. Subs: Ospina, Mustafi, Coquelin, Ramsey, Adelaide, Maitland-Niles, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Palace: Hennessey, Kelly, Dann, Tomkins, Ward, Flamini, Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon, Townsend, C. Benteke. Subs: Speroni, Fryers, Husin, Mutch, Sako, Lee, Campbell.
