Jason Lokilo was given a start by Frank de Boer in the pre-season friendly against FC Metz on Saturday afternoon and he reflected on a good afternoon’s work.
“I am very happy with my performance after being given the opportunity by the manager and just went out there and tried to do as well as I could.
“Just the like the rest of the squad I am trying to adapt my game within the system that we are now looking at playing and I think we did well today.”
The 18 year old is hoping this will be the season that he gets an opportunity to impress the new management team on a more regular basis.
“I am just trying to get more chances of being around the first team squad like this game and that means working hard, doing the right things and we will see where that takes me.”
On Saturday 5th August the final friendly for the senior side against Schalke will be played at Selhurst Park before the kick-off of the new season and the youngster is hoping he is involved in the game.
“It’s a dream to me to play at Selhurst Park and it would be great if I did that next weekend in and so I hope the gaffer was happy with my performance today and I am able to get more chances.”
