Palace pair Joe Ledley and Wayne Hennessey have been selected in the Wales squad for their upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland next week.
The Eagles duo will have the chance to add to their cap collections as Chris Coleman aims to get the Euro 2016 semi-finalists back on track in their bid to reach a first World Cup finals since 1958, after the Red Dragons drew at home to Luka Milivojevic’s Serbia in their last game back in November.
That result left Wales in third position in the group, with Ireland occupying top spot with 10 points and Serbia second on eight, meaning a good result for Coleman’s men on Friday would go a long way to keeping their hopes of qualifying for the finals in Russia alive.
Alongside the two Palace stalwarts and the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, Coleman has also included uncapped Liverpool attacker Ben Woodburn and MK Dons defender Joe Walsh.
Wales squad: Wayne Hennessey, Danny Ward, Owain Fon Williams, Ben Davies, James Chester, James Collins, Joe Walsh, Chris Gunter, Jazz Richards, Neil Taylor, Ashley Williams, Joe Allen, David Edwards, Andy King, Tom Lawrence, Joe Ledley, Shaun MacDonald, Aaron Ramsey, Gareth Bale, Hal Robson-Kanu, Tom Bradshaw, Sam Vokes, Ben Woodburn.
