Development midfielder Nya Kirby has been selected for England under-17s’ forthcoming UEFA U17 European Championships Elite Round qualifiers later this month.
The 17-year-old has been included in the travelling party by boss Steve Cooper after impressing in the recent Algarve tournament where England finished second amongst Portugal, Germany and Holland as preparation for these crucial qualifiers, as they aim to reach the finals in Croatia this summer.
To get there, the Three Lions will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina and take on the hosts, Slovenia and the Czech Republic in a round-robin tournament, with the group winners guaranteed to reach the finals, with some runners-up spots also available.
The three games will take place between the 23rd and 28th March in Bijeljina, with Kirby hoping to reach his first international finals with England, whom he has also represented at under-16s level.
