McArthur Set For Vital World Cup Qualifiers

26 September 2017

James McArthur has been named by Gordon Strachan in the Scotland squad for their games next month against Slovakia and Slovenia.

Both games will be World Cup qualifiers and Strachan’s side will need maximum points from each to have a chance of reaching the play-offs in Group F.

They host Slovakia on Thursday October 5th and will follow this up with the final group game during the following week against Slovenia.

Should Scotland be able to get the right results then they will be one of the teams looking for a place in the two-legged play-offs as eight of the nine group runners-up compete for the final places at the World Cup finals in Russia next summer.
