Andros Townsend (£6.0m) can be a major differential for Fantasy Premier League manager's this Gameweek 3, with the winger sitting in less than two per cent of squads ahead of Crystal Palace’s trip to Watford.
It was on the road in particular that Townsend excelled as a creative force last season. He recorded 22 key passes at Selhurst Park in 2017/18, but away from home his total of 43 chances created was joint-top with Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne (£9.8m).
Townsend supplied 34 of those from open play, a tally second only to the 35 of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (£10.5m), and although he failed to score away from home, Townsend’s total of 29 attempts was more than any other Palace player.
Looking ahead to this weekend, Watford’s reliance on their left wing could allow him freedom to make an impact. A lofty 43.4 per cent of The Hornets’ attacks come down their left hand side, compared with only 26.9 per cent on the right.
Therefore if Townsend continues on the Eagles’ right, he can look to profit from the space vacated by the forward runs of Jose Holebas (£4.6m) and Roberto Pereyra (£6.1m).
That could make him a key performer as Roy Hodgson’s side look for their second away win of the season.
