On Monday night, the Crystal Palace Supporters Children's Charity hosted a fantastic Christmas party for 180 young Eagles and their carers who were lucky enough to be joined by the Palace first-team squad, manager, the Crystals and a certain Mr Bill Nighy.
Nighy, who is the patron of the CPSCC, attends the event every year and said, "I've been coming for 10 years or something of that kind and we raise a lot of money for the kids who have various conditions where they need special help. The players always come, it's exemplary. The manager always comes.
"It's a great day out for the parents and for the children. It's an opportunity to do something that might be useful. I do very little of the work, I just turn up! But the people who organise it do a great job."
The children had great fun meeting players such as Andros Townsend and Max Meyer as well as manager Roy Hodgson. The first-team then served up dinner while the Crystals were on hand meeting, chatting and taking pictures.
