Crystal Palace FC can confirm that goalkeeper Vicente Guaita will join the club on a three year deal.
The 31-year-old shot-stopper will officially become a Palace player on 1st July when his contract at Getafe expires, and is Roy Hodgson’s first signing of the summer.
The Eagles fought off interest from a host of top European clubs to capture Guaita, who began his career at Valencia where he made more than 100 appearances before moving to Getafe in 2014. Last season he kept 12 clean sheets to help his side to an eighth-place finish in their first season back in La Liga.
Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish said: “We are delighted to sign one of La Liga's best goalkeepers and pleased that we beat off the competition for his signature. We very much look forward to Vicente joining in pre-season training and helping us push on in the Premier League."
