On Sunday afternoon BBC's legendary football commentator John Motson blew the final whistle on his Match Of The Day commentating career as he made his way to the TV gantry to provide the words that painted the picture of the action that unfolded at the club's final home game of the season at Selhurst Park.
His career has spread across five decades which away from the competitive week to week league action, he has taken in ten World Cups and has also been the man behind the microphone at 29 FA Cup Finals for the BBC.
When the broadcaster announced his retirement in September 2017 many fans recalled their own favourite Motty Moments from over the years and so many will have your own favourite to recall.
Our gallery takes you through his day in SE25 which was rounded off on the pitch by Roy Hodgson presenting a couple of gifts from the club.
A framed piece of memorabilia included the programme from John's first home Palace match on Match Of The Day in 1975, when he covered the match against Sheffield Wednesday and the publication from his final game against West Bromwich Albion. This limited edition featured John on the cover and an interview inside.
He also received a Crystal Microphone to commemorate his place as legend within his trade behind the mic.
