Roy Hodgson confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Friday that Christian Benteke will still be missing from the line-up against Wolves on Saturday.
The manager was asked whether he had any players that were not going to make the game as he looked ahead to the first top flight meeting between the two clubs.
“Benteke is the one, we have been expecting that as he needs a bit more time but he is making good progress. Apart from the other two long term injuries, Scott Dann and Connor Wickham, but both are back in training. We have a good squad of players available at the moment.”
Jairo Riedewald who missed Monday’s defeat due to injury against Bournemouth has been able to join back in training this week.
