Nya Kirby flew the flag for Crystal Palace fantastically over the past week, playing in both of England’s Under-19 friendlies against Portugal and Macedonia.
Kirby scored from the edge of the box for England’s fourth in a convincing 6-2 victory over the latter.
He featured first against Portugal however, coming on for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as a substitute. He then played well enough to earn a full run-out in the following fixture after England romped to victory 4-1, with goals coming from Emile Smith-Rowe, Felix Nmecha, Marc Guehi and Ian Poveda-Ocampo.
Deservedly playing the full 90 minutes on Monday, Kirby impressed for Keith Downing’s side against Macedonia, showing just why he received his call-up in the first place. One of four to net England’s six, Kirby scored alongside Callum Hudson-Odoi, Stephen Walker (3) and Tariq Lamptey.
England’s two wins set the boys up well heading into November, when they’ll face Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iceland in the first qualifying round of the Euros.
