Cheikhou Kouyaté captained Senegal to a 3-0 victory against Sudan on Saturday as his country went to the top of their group in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
The match played in Dakar was their first victory since the 2-1 win over Poland in this summer's World Cup opener in Russia.
The hosts went into a first half lead with the opening goal of the evening just past the quarter hour mark of the action as Pape Abou Cisse scored from close range.
Just minutes later Idrissa Gueye made no mistake as a chance came his way, firing home
Sadio Mane's low pass to put the home side in control and on their way back to winning ways after only drawing against Madagascar last month.
Aliou Cisse’s side only had to wait five minutes into the second period of the game before a deflected shot from striker M'Baye Niang completed a dominated display from the Senegal side.
Kouyate stays with the national side for the next few days before another game against Sudan in Khartoum on Tuesday.
