Current Manager Hugo Oliveira took charge in December 2024 and steered the team to a seventh-place finish at the end of the season.
His first full year in charge would prove even more successful. Famalicão only lost eight games in their entire league campaign. Ultimately, they again narrowly missed out on qualifying for European football, finishing in fifth, just three points behind Braga.
Wide player Gil Dias was perhaps the standout player, with 12 goal contributions in the league from the right wing.
Tricky forward Sorriso is another to look out for. He finished as Famalicão's joint-top scorer in the league, scoring five goals.
But their strength is in defence. In 34 league games last season, Famalicão conceded just 29 goals.
Manager Oliveira has previously worked in England at clubs including Hull City, Everton, Watford and Fulham as Marco Silva's goalkeeping coach. He stayed at Craven Cottage right until the point he was offered the head coach job by Famalicão.
His next aim will be to try and make his club Portugal's undisputed 'best of the rest', behind the traditional big three of Porto, Sporting and Benfica.
Boot in both camps
Now retired forward Rui Fonte has represented both Palace and Famalicão.
The younger brother of Portugal international and former Eagle Jose Fonte, he was initially brought to England by Arsenal at the age of 16.
Fonte then joined the Eagles on-loan during the 2008/09 season, playing alongside his brother. He featured in ten games but failed to net during his time in South London.
