Japan midfielder Daichi Kamada played the second half of their 3-1 Kirin Challenge Cup friendly victory over Uruguay last Thursday.
He then started Monday’s second friendly against Venezuela at Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima, playing the first half before making way for Ao Tanaka at the break as the Samurai Blue secured a 2-1 victory.
The back-to-back wins set Japan up for their Kirin Cup campaign, which begins against Ecuador in the semi-final on Thursday.
Their fourth and final fixture of the window will be against either New Zealand or Panama, with the match taking place in the third-place play-off or final depending on the result against Ecuador.
