“We still have another big game coming up next week and want to finish as high as possible and results dependant want to try and get to tenth place.
“The manager gave us a hard time at half time but I don’t think it was as bad as maybe what he thought. They were obviously up for it in the first half and put us under a lot of pressure but in the second half we came out and dominated, especially when we got that goal. We created so many chances after that and the defenders have been brilliant all season and they withstood another goal today.”
The midfielder made a fine run down the left before getting on the end of a pass from Ruben Loftus Cheek and firing home the equaliser.
“I tried to obviously make the run, if it came to me then great if it didn’t then I take a man away but thankfully he played it right in my path and hit it first time.”
The Scottish international is delighted to be having a regular run in the side and his eighth goal of the season capped off a fine run of form in recent weeks.
“It’s good to be playing regular football and obviously it’s within a squad that is outstanding with talent all over the squad and to keep my place and playing well I am obviously delighted.
“You could see we gave everything to try and get that win and keep pushing on until the end of the season with this unbeaten run.”
