He remarked, "I thought we were excellent, [it was] one of the best performances I've been involved with. We were outstanding from the final whistle and it was thoroughly well deserved."
However, Palace created 29 chances in total and could have won the game by an even more comprehensive margin.
"I think if we were further up in the table with confidence and scoring goals, it would have been a lot more today. But, 2-0 with an amazing performance we're very pleased with.
"We kept attacking, obviously when it's 1-0 there's that fear that if they get that goal we throw three points away. But we kept at our task and thankfully we got the second with an amazing strike from Andros. He does that in training a lot."
Looking ahead to Tuesday's league game against Brighton and Hove Albion, McArthur iterated just how important the match is to everyone at the club and, having been with the Eagles since 2014, knows it more than most.
"For us, for the fans, for everyone involved with the club, it's a massive game. We need to go there and give the fans an amazing win and keep trying to push up that table."
