He was part of an Eagles side that became the first side to stop City scoring in league action this season and he was delighted to see the home side take a share of the points.
“I thought it was a great team performance and everybody knows the quality of their team and are difficult to play against, they are a side who move the ball well & get plenty of crosses in so they are not easy to defend against so we knew we had to stay focussed and we did that.
“We gave everything as a team and kept going making sure we won the 50/50 challenges and moved the ball forward well and that was always important to do if we were going to stop Manchester City.”
That first day of this campaign against Huddersfield Town he played in midfield but the match against the league leaders saw him take a role in midfield and he admitted after the action that it is an area of the field that he enjoys playing in.
“I enjoy playing in midfield because I can defend against the opposition but also can attack more as midfielder so that position suits me well but was hard fitness wise out there today as I haven’t played a lot but the support from the stands gave me the energy to keep going.”
