The Frenchman was part of a backline that kept Manchester United at bay and laid the foundations for the Eagles to counter-attack when the opportunities were presented.
He said: “We can be proud of the job we did today. Even if I think we could have won. I think that it was a positive point. We had quite a few occasions to score but today the squad made a good job defensively. We all defended together. It’s a shame we couldn’t score but its positive as we created a few occasions we could have.
“The most important thing for me is if everyone gives 100% for the squad. I think today we saw that, all the all the defenders all the midfielders and all the strikers made a big difference, we can be proud.
The Palace fans travelled in numbers and could be heard from the first whistle to the last and Sakho believes it is a factor in the players performing the way they did.
“When we are playing at home, we are playing 12 against 11 they are always with us.
"Today they were behind us and I think that we all deserve these points, the squad and the fans too.”
