Two goals in the final three minutes saw Palace suffer defeat on Sunday afternoon as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun came off the bench to secure a 2-0 victory for the Toffees.
Speaking post-match, Wan-Bissaka said: “We are devastated to concede so late in the game. We played well, particularly in the second half and had a lot of chances but just couldn’t take them.
“We are a hard-working team keep fighting but need to finish our chances when they come along,” said the Palace defender as he revealed how close they came to keeping to the game plan.
“The plan was to defend well and keep a clean sheet and then we knew that chances would come along as they did but we were not able to take them.
“Sometimes our performance is not reflected in our result and we need to keep working hard through the games and take our chances.”
Next up for Palace is the visit of Arsenal to Selhurst Park next Sunday and the England under-21 defender believes the team spirit can get the squad through a difficult set of matches, and having returned from international duty he is looking to keep progressing in the top-flight.
“It is a tough run but as a team we need to stay strong together and we will always keep fighting and be up for the challenges ahead. We need to bounce back and take the positives from today into the games coming up.
“I’m enjoying it and my target is to play more games.”
