To start, it was the first time that Zaha has bagged 10 goals in a single season, making this his most impressive campaign in front of goal despite missing four league clashes so far.
He has improved his tally year-on-year for the Eagles, going from seven to nine to 10 between the 2016/17 and 2018/19 seasons.
But he also set a different first, this time for Crystal Palace as a whole.
By bagging his 10th of the season, Zaha joined captain Luka Milivojevic on double figures - making this the only season in the Premier League that two Eagles have scored 10 or more goals.
Milivojevic currently sits on 12 goals and both players will be eager to increase their totals in the final game of the season against Bournemouth this Sunday.
However, it wasn't just going forward in which Palace reached milestones against Cardiff as centreback Martin Kelly played his 100th Premier League game for the Eagles too.
By again winning on the road, Roy Hodgson's men have also notched up nine away wins this season - the club's joint-best top-flight total with 1990-91, a season in which Palace finished third.
