Crystal palace

First-half goals from Christantus Uche, Eddie Nketiah and Yéremy Pino helped Palace outclass their League of Ireland Premier Division opponents Shelbourne on the night – but with a brilliant atmosphere at Tallaght Stadium, complete with festive chanting, the Eagles did so with smiles on their faces.

It is with pride, then, that we share just a selection of your away day stories from Dublin, with thanks to you for your submissions – and with the promise of more of these to come this season...

      Andrew

I flew in from Bordeaux and met my brother and nephew.  They managed to arrive early on Wednesday and sneak in a game of golf on the coast!

We headed into town for a few renditions of 'Pino', and was interviewed for the 'Random Retro shirt box', but failed miserably - how could we forget Clinton O'Morrison!

I'm from a long line of Palace fans... my Dad, my kids, my brother, his kids, and now his grandkids, too.

I've too many memories to mention: Burnley in 7'9 Liverpool in the cup with John Burridge; the Brighton play-off second leg; and of course culminating in the FA Cup final victory.

      Palace for life!

      Kevin

I am an Irish Palace supporter for over 50 years. I became a Palace supporter when Paddy Mulligan joined from Chelsea. Since then, due to not working and then ill health and mobility issues, I have never been to Selhurst Park.

When I saw this game, I said this is my big chance to see the Eagles live, and their tremendous supporters.

I got tickets and went to match. It was very emotional to see my boyhood team in a competitive match, and being among the Palace fans for the first time ever in 50 years. I had tears streaming down with emotion to see and be a part of this.

For me this was a boyhood and lifetime dream, so I've enclosed pictures. Thank you so much for making my dream come true, and being part of it was better again for the three goals scored right beside me.

Palace forever. Up the Eagles. Be loud, be proud.

      Ivy-Grace

My name is Ivy-Grace, and I went to the game with my brother and dad.

Our best story from the trip was on the Wednesday, when we flew over and we met another Palace fan in the airport. His mate, who was also Palace, was driving a bus, so all of us got on the bus!

The lad drove us from the airport all the way to the city centre – a bus full of Palace fans!

      Gabriel

      Met this fella after game...

Apparently, he used to be decent.. can't see it myself!

      David

This is a photo I took at Dublin airport on the way home on Friday.

People were taking photos of one of the sniffer dogs - and I suddenly realised the dog had my scarf on!
